On February 18, 2017 VFW Post 11079 and The Auxiliary presented Chief Beck and the Blaney Fire Department a $3,000 check to help purchase tools for the Fire Department. The VFW received a $1,000 grant from the VFW National and our Post and auxiliary matched the grant with a $1,000 each.  VFW post 11079 is on a mission to help the many homeless Veterans in our great area by doing a "Back Pack Fill". Now through the third week of October 2019 the post will be collecting items and packs to fill. With the cold weather coming upon us and the holiday season please remember those that are not as fortunate as us.  Many of these Veterans have given not only of themselves but also of their families.  Let's do our part and show our support.
The items collected will be:
Medium to Large Back packs, Socks, hats, gloves, small tarps, warm blankets, long johns, hand warmers, rain gear, sleeping bags, personal hygiene items, non perishable items.  Remember the non perishable items need to be things that do not need the usage of hot water or microwaves. If you want to support monetary this is also accepted and can be dropped off at the Post.
Again, thank you for your support.
